Hello to all!
We are Tribalbanshees, a tribal style Bellydance group based in Gillingham, Kent.
Tribalbanshees was formed in 2004 by Charlotte & Nicky who loved tribal style so much but had no troupe to dance with; so they decided to make their own, and called it ‘Tribalbanshees’.
Over the years we have become a strong dance troupe who practice American Tribal Style ( ATS ) and Tribal Fusion.
We meet on the first and third Saturday of each month at the Sunlight Centre in Gillingham 6-8 pm.
New people (female or male) are always welcome to join in, a little knowledge of basic bellydance is helpful, but not essential.
To become a true ‘Banshee’ takes a little dedication and a willingness to learn ATS , as well as bringing a piece of your own personality to the group.
We are ever evolving and get excited by so many influences such as gothic, funhouse, flamenco and all the Bellydance superstars .
Our group is varied in age and personalities but that’s the best bit, we are like a delicious cake with lots of lovely ingredients.
Charlotte spends most of her free time choreographing new dances, making them as creative as she can, as well as teaching Bellydance classes for Adult Education in Gillingham , Kent, and drop in classes in Sittingbourne.
Nicky organises the event bookings and deals with all the admin and computer technology side of things.
Michael, Charlottes husband, didn’t want to be a Bellydance widower so he joined the band wagon and is now the banshees DJ and roady along with Simon, nicky's husband who films the shows and helps out when he can.
We are happy to perform at festivals, fetes, schools and fundraisers, we even arrange our own little shows and celebrations! Our dance sets are varied and we try to use our skills and imaginations to give a fun and entertaining mix of dances.
